Description
Farmland is a type of solid block on which Carrot , Potato, Wheat, Melon, Pumpkin etc. can be planted and grown.
Obtaining
Dirt, Dirt with Grass or Grass Path can be tilled by Hoe to create a Farmland.
Farmland can be broken with any tool, but shovel is the quickest. If the player break Farmland block, it will drop Dirt.
Usage
Use Farmland to plant and grow Seeds, Potato and Carrot, etc. One fully grown plant can drop 1–3 regular potatoes, carrots or wheat.
Farmland can become to dirt block, if nothing planted on it for too long, or if the player or any mob jumps or falls on the block.
You or other players have to be in the planted chunks to continue growing plants, when you go offline and other players aren't on the planted chunks, your plants will stop growing.
Hydration To grow plants faster, you should make hydrated farmland. When you make farmland, its dry by default.
To make hydrated farmland you need to follow such conditions:
- Water up to four blocks away horizontally, including diagonals.
- The water must be on the same level or 1 block above farmland block level.
The blocks between the farmland block and the water make no difference. Player cannot influence the rate at which farmland becomes hydrated.
To continue growing plants at nights, you should place lights near farmland.
